Sunday, September 12 and Monday, September 13, Sandra and her mother went to Maastricht, a beautiful city in the very south of the Netherlands.
The Dutch tend to consider this place a bit like a foreign city, cause of the lovely laid-back atmosphere and people.
Maastricht was founded by the Romans around 20 AD at an intersection of the road to Aachen with the river Maas. The first name of Maastricht was “Mosa Trajectum”, meaning “crossing of the Maas”.

I booked us a nice room in Hotel Les Charmes, a definite must-sleep if you ever need a romantic hotel with great furnished rooms and atmosphere. It’s situated next to the square Vrijthof, 5 min. walk from the shops.
Another tip: make reservations for dinner at
restaurant Reube (3 min. walk from hotel)!
