And now > Forum Romanum. Since high school (Latin lessons) I wished to visit the Forum. The concept of a lot of buidlings that old just lying there for centuries was too abstract for me. Had to see for myself. Very impressive, I tell you.

This photo is taken from the Capitol square, on a little platform on the side of the Palazzo Senatorio, overlooking the Forum Romanum. 

The three columns on the left were part of the Temple of Vespasianus. The series of columns on the rigth, the Temple of Saturnus. Slightly left of the middle, you see the Arch of Septimius Severus. 

Mind you, all these buildings had to be dug up again, as they were half hidden in the ground.
